In these posts, i talk about lyrics from our cd. Well I have another three for you to read. Enjoy:

It came to a sudden stop,

This song is only about one thing. Its about the loss of the greatest musical influence in my life. Blink 182. The first two lines, are about my waiting to go to there concert...and guess which day? March 10th 2004. The rest of the verse talks about, how there music changed my life, and how they inspired me to get into music.
The second verse is about how, without any warnings...BANG! Thats it..its all over. 12 years of creating music together, two best friends stop talking to each other. And to this day, there hasnt been nothing specific about there break up. Its about, how bad and how much it sucked that day to read it all over the internet. The chorus is about losing them, and how i miss there music.

This is one of the coolest songs we have written. The first half of the verse, is sung really slowly and melodicaly. The second half, is double time, with a great element of wanting to pick something up and smashing it. There is a cool guitar progression in the verse. The intro is a heavily distorted guitar, massive cracking sounds, and builds up into this verse. Paul sings the verse's, i sing the chorus. Im trying to write a solo for this song...its frecking hard to! This song is about, telling your girlfriend its over, and that you realise that she comes back running to you, and you know its wrong to take her back. Its basically a big 'FUCK YOU' Song. I enjoyed writing it.

This is gonna be the first track on the cd. We all come in, and i ring out into feedback. The intro was inspired by Fugazi. One of the greatest punk rock bands in my opinion. Its about, how much effort we all put into making the cd, and hopefully someone out there will enjoy it and say, Burnouts Forgotten, this song on ur cd...is fucking amazing. This is one of the fastest songs on the CD. Over within 2 minutes.

A Year Full of Mistakes P.1

This is the first of about 6, maybe 7 blogs which talk about the lyrics for the Burnouts Forgotten cd, A Year Full of Mistakes. I will talk about where the ideas came from, and basically my thoughts on each song.

When Burnouts Forgotten was created, i didnt want to write the same music i feel inlove with, but i wanted to take the elements of the bands that i like, and put them all into the songs i write.

So, i wanted Burnouts Forgotten, to be vibrant, like Blink 182, agressive and melodic like Boxcar Racer, confronting like the Used, diversirty like Yellowcard, harmonies of Smashing Pumpkins, lyrics of Jimmy Eat World, the dynamics of the American Analog Set and trash element of Fugazi.

Most of the songs are about the different types of loss. Losing, friends, girlfriends, death, the fear of dying. So yeah, it can be pretty morbid at times.

The first song is called, Pink Skirts, Black Shirts.

Its about a hope you can have with a particular girl, and you try extermly hard to do everything right, but the more you try, the harder it gets to resolve the issue, and then, it comes to a point where, you just give up because there mis-treating you, and you get fed up with it, and say "Fuck this, i dont want to speak to you anymore."
The chorus is about, wanting that girl, but at the same time, knowing that they arnt the real girl for you, because if they were, the wouldnt of hurt you.

The second song is called, Lonely Thoughts

This song is about, sorry if i offend anyone, but its about, driving a car, being an idoit, causing a car accident, and killing your friend in the passenger seat. So that's what i was thinking about. The first line is about, after the crash, your basically looking over your dead friend in the seat, and how, you realise what you did was wrong, and you want to be dead so you dont have to face the consequences.
The second verse is about, visting your passed friend at the cemetry, bringing them flowers, praying for them, crying for them, understanding that life will never be the same again. The last line is about, looking back on a fun night, which took a terrible turn for the worst.
After the second chorus, it takes a heavier turn, when drums come in, and the guitar distorts with a huge crunch! This is a very boxcar racer styled song, its basically using the same formula as Boxcar Racer.
